1939 PONTIAC QUALITY SILVER STREAK 2 DOOR TOURING SEDAN
Sleek, Custom, Chopped, Shaved, Frenched, Sunset Orange, Street Rod
Many new concepts that are still in use today were first introduced during the 1939 production year. Her Professional Custom "Sunset Orange" Paint and "Chop Top" are the first things you will notice about this Classic 30's Two Door Touring Sedan, but she has plenty more unique features to recommend her. Her beauty is combined with Utility and Comfort.
She has a dependable 350 cu.in. Chevrolet engine mated to a Turbo Hydra-Matic 700R4 automatic transmission, and both are bolted to a late model Mustang Front End.
Bolted to her 350 small block is a Victor Jr. Edelbrock Manifold and a Holly 600cfm Carburetor. Ample power for cruising anywhere your heart desires isn't all this baby has to offer.
You'll enjoy the modern comforts of Reliable VDO gauges, Rack & Pinion Power steering with Cruise Control on a Tilt column and Power Front disc brakes.
Your passengers will appreciate the *"Duflex" rear leaf springs, which first appeared on Pontiacs in 1939, and modern shock absorbers.
And Everyone will be grateful for the Icy cold Modern (R134A) Air Conditioning system and the concealed Sony CD player. Visibility is good with Wide Windshield Glass and a Narrow Windshield Corner Post. These were featured selling points in 1939 and after "chopping" her top they are even more valued today! There is Plenty of leg room for front and rear passengers and the unavoidable "hump" in the floor is minimized due to a new *Hypoid rear axle which was introduced in 1939. This axle allowed the driveshaft to be placed very low in relation to the centerline of the axle. Her Comfortable Custom "Sunset" interior of Cream and Orange Leather is roomy and low-hung with Floors that are practically level with the curb. Her late-model Front Bucket Seats are cozy with many adjustable positions and her rear seat with its Indian Motif is spacious and thickly cushioned.
Aluminum billet door handles, window cranks, floor pedals, steering wheel and rear view mirror coordinate well with her sleek styling.
Her Matching "sunset" door panels, head liner, carpeting and painted dash round out her custom interior. Her Exterior Streamline look is distinctive and evolutionary. The yacht-line prow-shaped grille is augmented by pronounced Fender Catwalks on either side flowing into color matched fiberglass running boards. Her "Shaved" doors and trunk create Sleek Uninterrupted lines from "bow to stern."
The "Silver Streak" moniker was derived from a bright metal band running forward from the cowl, over the hood and down the front of the radiator. The chromed accents were painted to match her "Sunset Orange" body during the monochromatic restoration.
Polished Aluminum Eagle Alloys Wheels really stand out by giving her that little touch of Shine. FEATURES & OPTIONS:

Restoration completed 6 years ago, began 15 years ago The Pontiac brand was introduced by General Motors in 1926. The 1939 Pontiac Quality Six line basically grafted Pontiac Front End styling onto a Chevrolet A-body shell. It was a good move, as history shows 1939 Pontiac production numbers soared. From her functional and rare Pontiac "Indian Head" radiator ornament, which serves as the locking handle to raise the alligator type hood, to her "Frenched" tail lights this Show Winning '39 Silver Streak is a Unique and Eye Catching Piece of American Automotive History. Call, Email or Come by Dixie Dream Cars today for your opportunity to own the Classic Car of your Dreams! *Note: "Duflex" rear springs appeared for the first time in 1939, a feature that is still in use today on light truck leaf springs.
The "Duflex" spring incorporates a stiff leaf low on the stack; as the vehicle load is increased the leaves above flatten out and contact the "helper" to effectively change the spring rate. DIXIE DREAM CARS
