1949 Ford F-1 Light-Duty 1/2 Ton Truck

Original Powertrain. Built "Ford Tough."

Ford's all-time Best Selling vehicle, the F-Series was the first truly new pickup truck since the start of World War II.

The original F-Series trucks were produced from 1948 through 1952.
Well-Constructed and Reliable the F-1 Series represents a long-standing history with Strength and Utility.

This Tough Truck has her original 239 CID Flathead V-8 mated to her original 'Synchro Silent' Floor-Shift 3-Speed manual Transmission!
She has her original 6-volt ignition system, and correct Generator.

She starts easy with her Original Push Button Start and drives like a brand new '49 model Ford truck!
She is Mechanically sound, dependable and Ready for the Road.

This F-1 Half-Ton was given a High-Quality Professional Restoration about 15 years ago.

Finished in correct Glade Green using High Quality PPG paint, this truck has New Saddle color upholstery and Rare Factory-Original Options including the FoMoCo Radio, Cabin Heater, Defroster, and Fresh-Air ventilation System.


Powering this Classic is her rebuilt, original 239 cubic-inch Flathead V-8 engine breathing through a two-barrel carburetor and delivering 100 horsepower.
Though the flathead V-8 was nearing its development peak, Ford remained the only American light- duty truck manufacturer to offer V8 power until 1954.

She has her original Intake Manifold, Left & Right Cylinder Heads and Exhaust Manifolds.
She Shifts smoothly with her rebuilt, original 'Synchro Silent' floor-shift three-speed manual transmission.
She Sounds Great with her new Dual Exhaust has Dual Glass Pack mufflers and turned down pipes with Ford Oval Logo Exhaust Deflector Tips.

Her master cylinder is located under her cab and her Four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes work like new.


First generation Ford F-Series was the first truck Ford offered that was built on its own dedicated truck platform.
She has Level Action cab suspension and a strong chassis to withstand the strenuous job a work truck was designed for.
Her ride is authentic 1949 with her correct direct acting shock absorbers with a rugged, I-beam front axle and semi-elliptic leaf springs in the front.
She has a semi-floating, integral housing type rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs and mono-tube shocks.


Her All Original Ford Steel body, bed and fenders show how well this beauty was loved.
Her Original Glade Green Color was Professionally and Correctly Restored using Top Quality PPG paint products.
This baby is no "Trailer Queen" though. She has been driven regularly and garaged kept.
Her paint shows minimal wear from the last 15 years of use.

Keeping her 1949 factory specs, her front end around the headlight buckets is painted light tan, her running boards and bumpers are black, and her Steel Wheels are color matching Glade Green.

Her Chrome Grille and trim are in very good condition.
She has chrome long arm side view mirrors and her exterior door hardware is correct.
The flip cover door lock is located on the passenger side only.

Notice the horizontal metal bars on the nose of her hood?
The left bar is actually the hood latch release. Pretty nifty!

Her bed was redone with new at the time hardwood boards, Stainless Steel hardware and color matching painted metal strips.


In 1948 Ford introduced what they called a Million Dollar cab which was wider and more comfortable with better ventilation, visibility and available options.
Her Folding Bench seat is very comfortable with thick new cushions and the unobstructed view through Ford's expanded, one-piece windshield is excellent.

Her Interior was Reupholstered with Saddle colored vinyl.
For Safety and Peace of Mind, Seat Belts were installed during the Restoration.

Her Custom Interior panels, Kick Panels and a Headliner were added to her cabin for more than just their good looks.
Her interior panels have sound deadening material underneath for a quieter driving experience.
A Custom Fit, Black, Non-Slip Rubber mat covers the painted interior floor from Door-to-Door.

Her Rare Factory-Original Options including the heater, defroster, and fresh-air ventilation system, and a rare original FoMoCo radio and speaker.

The Ford F-Series pickup truck line began with the newly designed F-1, which made its debut in January of 1948. Advertised as the 'Ford Bonus-Built' line.
