1957 Ford Ranchero Video
1957 Ford Ranchero Custom 300 "Car-Truck" Southern, Unique, First Generation, Classic, Powerful, Comfortable, Reliable, Professionally Restored This two-owner beauty has had the same owner since 1961. She has always been garage kept and went through a complete frame-off, nut & bolt, professional restoration in 1998. She is an Exceptional Vehicle that is looking for someone who will love her as much as her last owner did.
She is a Solid, Southern Belle who was first sold in Atlanta, Georgia and has resided locally here in North Georgia it's entire life. Her Powerful Thunderbird H.O. 390 CID, 4V, 340+ hp V8 mated to a 3-Speed, Automatic Transmission will get you where you need to go quickly and with style. An updated interior combined with her short-wheelbase chassis, 116 in (2946 mm), found on the '57 Ford Custom and Station Wagon lines, gives you a smooth and comfortable ride. This unique vehicle debuted in 1956 as the original "car-truck".
The Ranchero's sleek looks, ease of operation, utility of a light pickup and riding characteristics of a full size car, made her a hit with both the automotive press and the buying public. She is the higher optioned "Custom 300" model, which features attractive body side molding, two-tone paint, and luxury interior trim options. Patterned after the '57 Fairlane, this beauty has the Classic '57 Ford look with her single-headlight front end and her unmistakable long flanks and tailfins. Her Professional, Frame-Off Restoration was completed in the 90's with attention paid to every detail. MECHANICAL: Her Powerful, Rebuilt, 1963, Thunderbird H.O. 390 CID (6.4L) 340+ hp V8 engine replacing her original, adequate 292 CID (4.8 L) 212 hp Thunderbird V8, turns over with gusto with an Electric Fuel Pump and 4 barrel 600cfm Autolite 4100 carburetor.
Her Thunderbird 390 engine is mated to her matching, Rebuilt, '63 T-bird, 3-Speed Automatic, "Cruise-o-matic" Transmission. Check under her dash and you will find two switches. One is for the Electric Fan and the other is for the Electric Fuel Pump.
You never have to worry about overheating or cold starts, the previous owner was a professional antique vehicle restorer and he thought of everything!
He even put a kill switch on the battery. Combine that with the Hood Latch Release under the dash and you can leave your worries behind. She has an updated Rack & Pinion Power Steering system for easy handling, Power brakes on her 4 wheel drums and a rebuilt Open Differential Rear End from the 63 T-bird. Listen to the melodious sound her updated Dual Exhaust with Chrome Tips creates.
Her gentle Purr in idle and her delicious Growl when revved will have you smiling every time you hear it. EXTERIOR: This Exceptional Ranchero has all Original body panels, hood, grille, bumpers, mouldings, tailgate, and side view mirrors.
She has never been in an accident or had any rust issues.
She even has all her original floor pans and sheet metal! Visibility is Excellent in this '57 with all new Glass.
Even the wrap around windshield and weather stripping were replaced during her Frame- Off Restoration.
Her New Sun Visors are a Tinted See-through plastic that won't diminish visibility while driving into the sunset. From her Optional Front Bumper Guards to her "Longhorn" tailgate emblem, this baby has the perfect amount of chrome trim and all in nice condition.
Contrasting nicely with her abundant Chrome Accents is her beautiful black PPG paint. Notice how her Optional Fender Skirts keep those Sleek lines Flowing from her Single headlights to her Single Tail lamp with Center back up light.
To complete her Iconic looks are her Correct '57 Wheel Covers and Steel Belted Radial Wide Whitewall Tires from Coker Tire Company in Chattanooga, TN. Take note of all of her little extras: factory radio antenna on her front fender, Accessory Bed Rails, front and rear bumper guards, window deflectors, and sliding door lock covers. INTERIOR: Comfortable, Classic, and Cool... that about sums up the interior of this beauty.
Her interior was tastefully restored to be Functional and still retain that 50's look. Her seating has been upgraded to a sumptuous Power Bench Seat in an understated Blue- Grey Vinyl/Cloth and Chrome with a fold down center armrest. New Power window hardware, "SelectAire" Air Conditioning, and upgraded radio were added to further enhance the driving experience, along with shoulder seat belts for upgraded safety. Should you wish to enjoy a nice breeze during an evening cruise, the vent glass windows operate smoothly...
Don't you wish auto manufacturers would install these little wonders on today's cars? She has New Door Panels, Carpet, and Headliner all done in the coordinating Blue/Grey color with a New Dash pad in the medium blue to match the original dash. Her Instrument Gauges are Original with Fuel, Speedometer, and Temperature gauges set into a semi-circle lens with chrome bezel.
Her Oil and Generator Lights are set below the instrument cluster. FEATURES AND OPTIONS: POWERTRAIN:

* The Ranchero had a marginally higher cargo capacity, by about fifty pounds/23 kg, than the half-ton F-Series pickup.
* Unlike a pickup truck, the Ranchero was adapted from a two-door station wagon platform that integrated the cab and cargo bed into the body.
* The Ranchero was always patterned after a selected Ford car line.
* The Ranchero was built on the corresponding automobile assembly line but sold as a truck through Ford's truck division.
* Print advertising of the time played on the theme of the American Southwest that the Spanish model name and longhorn symbol were meant to evoke, showing artistic representations of the vehicle being used in ranching and outdoor activities, proclaiming it as "More Than A Car! More Than A Truck!" Rancheros are some of the most desirable Fords sought after by the collector and individual today. This Classic, Tastefully Upgraded, First Generation1957 Ford Ranchero is Ready to Cruise or to Show.
