Welcome Trans Am fans... do we have a Treat for You!
Are You Looking For Some Pontiac Excitement?! Well, Here You GO!

Museum Quality, Original Owner, Fully Documented, Garage Kept, Actual 10K Miles, 20th Anniversary Indy Pace Car Edition,

This completely original beauty has been pampered and protected for 24 years, and now she is looking for someone new to make her purr and growl.

How Badly do you want to own a Museum Quality Piece of Pontiac History with full documentation? One that is soon-to-be a Classic American Muscle Car! And let's frost that cake with... She is practically Brand New right out of a time capsule!

The Turbo Trans Am was The Quickest And The Fastest American Car On The Market In 1989 and Pontiac's most potent product of the 1980's.

Want to go back in time to those extravagant 80's?
Well, when you sit in the cockpit of this mint condition Turbo Trans Am, you can't help but feel a little nostalgic for those fun years.

"Sliding behind the wheel of the Turbo Trans Am is like entering the bridge of the Starship Enterprise, with gadgets galore. However, it is what's under the under the hood that really makes your heart skip a beat. Nail the throttle from a stop and you'll be doing 70 mph before you can say "Anniversary." Besides being blindingly quick, the Trans Am is also a cornering champion, with its WS6 suspension capable of reaching a 0.89 lateral g on the skid pad."

- History Of The 1989 Turbo Trans Am -

1989 marked the Trans Am's 20th exciting year. To celebrate the occasion, Pontiac together with PAS developed the 20th Anniversary Trans Am. The all white Trans Am with Tan Leather interior was chosen to pace the 73rd Indianapolis 500 Race, marking the third and last appearance by Pontiac at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway since 1980. This car proudly met all demanding Indianapolis Pace Car requirements without any mechanical or technical modifications.

Through a unique partnership between Pontiac and an engineering firm called Prototype Automotive Services (PAS), the Turbo Trans Am was equipped with a more powerful version of the turbocharged Buick 3.8L SFI fuel injected V6, originally developed for the Buick Regal Grand National.

The narrow engine bay of the Trans Am required the use of different cylinder heads, which happened to have better flow characteristics than the old Buick heads. Special stainless steel headers were made specifically for the project as well. The heads, headers, along with more refined tuning of the boost and fuel curves, all added up to a more powerful package than the older Buicks.

Though it only has a max displacement of 231 cubic inches, this engine makes the power and torque that can only be compared to a big block V8.

This V6 comes equipped with intercooler, a computer controlled Garrett turbocharger set at a maximum boost of 16.5 psi, 3800 Series cylinder heads, and an electronic coil pack ignition system(replacing the antiquated distributor). All TTA's received the TH200-4R transmission, equipped with overdrive and a torque converter clutch and a special heavy-duty brake system. It also has a specially designed fuel tank derived from IMSA (International Motor Sports Association) Showroom Stock Competition. Inside the fuel tank is a baffle surrounding the fuel pump that keeps a steady supply of fuel to the pump during sharp turns

Ultimately, of the 64,409 Firebirds produced in 1989, only 1,555 were TTA replicas. Five of these TTA's, rated at 250 hp, were test cars. But after Car and Driver magazine tested the car, logging a 0-60 mph run in 4.6 seconds, and a standing quarter-mile in 13.4 seconds at 101 mph, they called the 250 hp rating "exceedingly modest," estimating the actual output to be "closer to 300 hp." They also subsequently reported that it was the "quickest 0-60 sprinter available in any US production-car showroom - at any price."

Drivetrain List:
Transmission - A4 TH200-4R
Engine Code - LC2 V6
CR - 8.0:1
HP - 250@4400
Torque - 340@2800
Induction - SFI
Rear Axle - 3.27 Borg-Warner

This TTA is a well-balanced package with acceleration, braking, handling, aerodynamics and excellent fuel economy .

The 3rd Generation Firebird was the most aerodynamic product GM had ever released. Wind tunnels were used to form the new F-Body platform's shape, and Pontiac took full advantage of it. The aerodynamic developments extended from the windshield sloping at 62 degrees to the finned aluminum wheels with smooth hubcaps and a functional rear spoiler.

In addition, the TTA was relatively economical to drive; it returned 24 Mpg On The Highway, while the only cars (besides the Lotus Esprit Turbo SE) that could approach its performance at the time (Ferraris, Lamborghinis, etc.) were far more costly, and providing only around 10 to 12 mpg.

As has been proven to be the case in subsequent years, relying on a small engine for cruising, and a turbocharger for power, provides an exciting driving experience while returning impressive fuel mileage.
